A regular in Cincinnati’s top ten list, Abigail Street is the sophisticated sister restaurant to Senate and Pontiac BBQ in Over the Rhine. Chef and owner Dan Wright can be described as “street and savory” and feels no obligation to follow the rules. A recent innovation introduces synesthesia into the wine-tasting experience and inspired this collaboration with concert:nova. As part of the Late:Night series, a short wine class by Cutting Edge Imports presenting the selected wines and the innovative color system will inform abbreviated performances of Berio’s equally imaginative canon of Sequenzas. The solo texture of his compositions for varied instruments places the role of color or timbre on the same level as rhythm, harmony, and melody.
