An annual concert featuring the achievements of the Ben Carlson Berne Foundation Scholarship recipients also showcased the new commission Pictures of Stars to be used in high school classrooms to teach the concept of Supernovae and introduce new musical concepts. The new piece was premiered by Andrea Vos-Rochefort, clarinet, and Kate Alexandra, double bass, for whom it was written.
